Celebrating its centennial, Türkiye proudly reflects on 100 years of success that it has forged following the downfall of the Ottoman monarchy in 1923. Establishing a system that defied the invasive powers within the region since then has not been easy. Fighting the backlashes of a nulled dictatorship was more about battling the same forces that had brought about the empire's demise. Educating the public and establishing the political terrain for the people to practice their democratic rights was a top priority, but shielding them from fascist outbreaks has been a tough call. On the international front, the country prides itself on its many alliances and relies on its exceptional diplomatic relations in averting the many risks and conflicts in the region.
