UN Security Council 2023
25 SEPTEMBER 2023
President Erdogan addressed the United Nations General Assembly for the 13th time, bringing with him the same message he has given in years past, that the UN Security Council, with its five permanent members, needs immediate reform to better address the growing global challenges. He also mentioned the need to build a global governance architecture that is capable of representing all origins, beliefs, and cultures in the world. The recent events in Northern Cyprus were also part of his speech, in which he addressed the UN peacekeepers' blockade of the Pile-Yiğitler highway, a vital connection that when blocked serves the Greek Cypriot aim to turn Turkish Cypriots' Pile into a Greek village.
