Türkiye's strong relations with Syria prove worthy as the Syrian army won a critical front against the YPG, the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist organization. After the fall of Bashar al-Assad, Syria's interim leadership had moved to bring all armed groups under a single command, but instead of disbanding, the YPG stalled, missed deadlines, and launched attacks on Syrian forces. Türkiye voiced support for Damascus's campaign against the YPG and offered assistance to stabilise northern Syria.
