China's newly appointed Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Ankara for talks. The visit included a meeting with President Erdogan who conveyed his desire for stronger collaboration with China to create sustainable structures for trade. Currently, China holds a massive trade surplus with Turkiye at over 30 billion dollars. Wang Yi reiterated his 'no strings attached' support for Turkiye's role in regional and global affairs while discussing the ongoing war in Ukraine, and China's trillion-dollar Belt and Road Initiative, where Turkiye is playing a crucial role.
