At the 4th Italy-Türkiye Intergovernmental Summit held in Rome, both countries agreed to raise bilateral trade to 40 billion dollars a year. In the aftermath of US President Trump's tariff war, the growing alignment between Turkey and Italy represents a significant advance in Europe's security framework. At the summit, Baykar, Türkiye’s top drone producer, signed a joint venture with Leonardo, which followed an earlier deal last year when Baykar acquired Italy's Piaggio Aerospace.
