Türkiye proudly sends 3,000 security personnel to Qatar to aid the blockade-survivor Gulf Coast Country in hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Launched in Doha, the tournament brings together the Gulf Coast Countries (GCC) that had blockaded Qatar for four years. As the GCC leaders met with the Turkish president during a reception at the opening ceremony, President Erdogan celebrated Qatar's success with his host, Qatari Emire Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani. Last month, six landmark structures in Doha (Al Jaber twin towers, Torch tower, Sheraton Hotel, View Hospital, Iconic 2022, and THE e18hteen tower) were illuminated in the colors of the Turkish flag to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the Turkish Republic

Turkiye launches Operation Claw-Sword, a new anti-terror campaign against the PKK terror group and its offshoot, the YPG, in parts of northern Syria and Iraq. The cross-border aerial operation raids the illegal hideouts across Turkiye's southern borders. Turkish National Defense Ministry reports that the operation is in line with the right of self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Nearly 70 aircraft, including armed drones take part, striking 89 terror targets, that include shelters, bunkers, caves, tunnels, and ammunition depots at a depth of 140 km in northern Iraq, and 44 targets at a depth of about 20 km in Syria. In retaliation, PKK/YPG fires five rockets from Syria, targeting locals in Gaziantep's Karkamis district, killing three, wounding six.
