The US presidential election, viewed as the most consequential one in a generation, is expected to affect relations between Türkiye and the US. Both NATO allies maintain an open line of communication in keeping with their counterterror agenda and Türkiye-US relations set the tone of NATO's response to aggression on its eastern wall around Türkiye. The region currently suffers from four wars, namely in Ukraine, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine. With them all weighing big in global politics, whether Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump wins, nor the stark difference between how Turkish-American relations fared during the Biden Administration and the former Trump Administration make the US elections a matter that goes beyond the US politics.
